Family Partnership Correspondence School
In June 1997, Family Partnership Correspondence School (FPCS) was established through the combined efforts of ASD teachers and parents. Being the largest and oldest home-based school in Anchorage, the school has taken the lead in collaborating with home-schooling families and the Anchorage School District. FPCS is also one of the best online high schools in Alaska.
The correspondence school serves as a link between students who attend home schools and formal education. It offers a way for families to collaborate with qualified educators to create unique, tailored lesson programs for their children.
Through the implementation of several parent-guardian educational philosophies and curriculum options, every student will be motivated to fully develop the concepts and abilities required to meet the State of Alaska Content and Performance Standards.
All ASD high school students enrolled in Family Partnership Correspondence School (FPCS) who fulfill the high school eligibility standards as well as the college and university prerequisites are eligible to apply for the FPCS Early College Program. Early College Students can enroll in courses at BYU, National University, North Dakota University, MIT, UAA, UAF online, and other institutions.
The freedom to choose courses is one of the school's main benefits. It is possible for students to enroll in college courses and complete both transcripts at the same time. Furthermore, every student is provided with customized academic assistance by a licensed sponsor teacher who collaborates with parents and students to guarantee the most optimally customized educational experience.
