FinTech Ethics and Risks
They'll give a historical and wide overview of ethical issues surrounding money and the introduction or adoption of new technology. Then, building on the foundation laid by the Introduction to FinTech course, they'll evaluate the most relevant and ethical methods to apply such technology in a variety of industries and product segments. This topic will cover data collecting, customer privacy, and transactional difficulties in particular.
FinTech can help banks monitor and oversee financial transactions more easily and at a lower cost, decreasing fraud and bank costs. However, some techniques can also be used to steal money and other corporate secrets, disguise illicit activity (such as purchases of weapons, drugs, and other illegal items), and finance terrorists and other criminal groups. As a result, the ramifications of such crucial topics will be discussed in this subject.
They will discuss the ramifications of embedding their own conceptions of "human" morality into amoral machines in the next module, as well as whether or not human biases and prejudices can or will be integrated into such mechanisms, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
They will discuss some of the many unresolved questions and goals of introducing FinTech to the world in the final module, investigating the numerous ways that FinTech may both help and harm society.
