Foxcatcher
"Foxcatcher" is a biographical drama based on true events that follows the dark and twisted relationship between wealthy philanthropist John du Pont and Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz, a highly accomplished wrestler that secured a gold medal during the 1984 Olympics. He lives in the shadow of his more famous and charismatic older brother, Dave Schultz, also an Olympic gold medalist. Feeling unfulfilled and seeking recognition, Mark accepts an invitation from eccentric multimillionaire John du Pont to join his wrestling team, Team Foxcatcher, at his sprawling estate.
Under the guise of building a world-class wrestling team, du Pont manipulates and controls Mark, seeking to buy success and validation through his athletes. As Mark becomes more entangled in du Pont's world, their relationship takes a dark turn, with du Pont's erratic behavior and possessiveness creating tension and paranoia.
"Foxcatcher" is a gripping and haunting exploration of the complexities of human relationships and the destructive power of obsession. As one of the best movies about the Olympics, it also received critical acclaim for the cast's performances - particularly Steve Carell's chilling and transformative portrayal of John du Pont, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.
