Fringe Salon
Fringe was one of the first salons to open on the Lower East Side 15 years ago, and it has remained for a reason. Amy Schiappa, the salon's founder, set out to establish an inspiring and welcoming environment, which she has accomplished with the salon's cute vintage barbershop-esque aesthetic and her crew of creative and attentive stylists.
The Fringe Salon had a casual, personal feel to it, and everyone from the receptionist to Amy herself was friendly—quite the contrary of the intimidating attitude that several NYC salons are known for. Amy's unique expertise, in addition to her laid-back demeanor, was the most beautiful, beachy waves.
