Frostburg State University
In 1902, Frostburg State University (FSU) started as a school focused on training teachers. Situated in the beautiful Appalachian highlands of Western Maryland, FSU now serves over 5,600 students at its Frostburg campus, within the University of Maryland system, and through various online and hybrid programs.
FSU offers various academic options, including 47 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate degrees and certificates. Notable programs include an online RN-to-BSN initiative, four fully online master's programs, and two hybrid master's degrees.
The online Master of Business Administration (MBA) at FSU stands out for its seven-week courses, allowing students to complete their studies part-time or full-time in as little as a year. The university also provides Master of Science (MS) degrees in applied computer science and recreation, parks, and sport management. For nursing professionals, FSU offers four graduate nursing tracks that can be completed entirely or primarily online, with a mix of self-paced and scheduled online classes.
Recognizing the importance of research and innovation, FSU provides students with valuable opportunities to engage in meaningful research projects under the guidance of experienced faculty members. FSU offers various financial aid options to assist students financially, including scholarships, grants, and work-study programs. Tuition rates differ based on residency, and the admission criteria for graduate programs vary depending on the specific program of interest.
