Gary Player Country Club

When construction began on Sun City Resort in 1978, it was decided to build a golf course that could rival the best golf courses in the world. Today, despite stiff competition, Gary Player Country Club deserves to be ranked as one of the most prestigious golf courses on the African continent.

The Gary Player Country Club golf course, designed by Gary Player, is an 18-hole par-72 walking course, with a 5km track along the course. It is also the venue for the prestigious Nedbank Golf Tournament, formerly the Million Dollar Golf Challenge, since 1981. The tournament, now part of the European Tour Race to Dubai, is one of golf's most famous events and has become one of the most admired tournaments by top players in the world.
