Following the fall of the Soviet Union, Gazprom was privatized while keeping its Russia-based assets. In the 2020 Forbes Global 2000, Gazprom was ranked as the 32nd largest public company in the world.
Gazprom has one of the largest reserves of natural gas in the world, and it operates fields and pipelines across Russia and several other countries. The company is also involved in the production of crude oil and other petroleum products, as well as electricity generation. Additionally, Gazprom exports natural gas to numerous countries in Europe and Asia, making it one of the world's largest exporters of natural gas.
