Getting around

Although Monaco does not have an airport, you can easily fly to Nice Airport, which is about 30 minutes away from the glamorous and luxurious Monaco. You can either take a train or a taxi after arriving at the airport. Monaco, as a significant land within the Schengen zone, does not require Europeans or Americans to have a visa to enter. Furthermore, there is little passport control at the French border. When visiting Monaco, you can always rent a luxurious car. If you want to save money, however, you have three options: trains, buses, and bicycles.

While trains run every half-hour, buses are usually available in the area between the railway station and Monte Carlo. In Monaco, you can also rent bicycles. The best way to discover Monaco, its history, and the local way of life is to walk. There are numerous public lifts and escalators that allow you to quickly travel between districts. Walking from east to west across Monaco takes only 45 minutes. In Monaco, public lifts make it simple to get from lower to higher streets.
