Girl’s Generation
This eight-membered K-pop girl band since 2007 has coined its identity as “The Nation's Girl Group” in South Korea. Their eponymous Korean Album's single “Into the New World” brought them into the K-pop world.
Girl's Generation also known as SNSD, is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment. The group is composed of eight members: Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun. Originally a ninepiece ensemble, Jessica departed from the group in September 2014. Among the prominent figures in Korea and the most popular Kpop groups in the world, Girls' Generation received many acclaims and the honorary title of "National Girl Group" in their home country.
In 2009, Girl's Generation made a name for them in the popular music world with the single "Gee" and entered KBS Music Bank. It was filmed with Melon's favorite song in the 2000's and 10's. Their Korean album Oh! It won the 2010 Golden Disc Award. Their third Korean album, "The Boys," was loved around the world, acclaimed and became the best-selling album of 2011. Undoubtedly, their successive albums continued to rock pop fans.
Their signature music delivery styles include electropop, hip-hop, bubblegum, R&B and EDM. Hundreds of millions of views on YouTube speak of the peak of popularity they reached. Billboard named them "Best K-Pop Girl Group of the Last 10 Years".
