Go crate diving at Sweat Records
Miami’s favorite record store, Sweat is a local treasure. Sweat Records opened in 2005 to cater to Miami’s massive audience of music lovers, as well as visitors to the tropical metropolis. It is located next door to the divey music hangout Churchill’s Pub and is home to an eclectic mix of vinyl that keeps both hardcore music lovers and casual crate diggers coming back again and again. Expect assorted indie, electronic, local gems, underground and undiscovered kitsch, available in cassette, CD, or LP. The shop also hosts Miami’s Classic Album Sundays, movie screenings, community meetings, and a pretty epic block party for Record Store Day each year.
Today Sweat Records is a local institution as well-known for its regular schedule of all ages in-store events as it is. Aside from the intrinsic awesomeness of supporting your local record store, Sweat has a fantastic selection and great atmosphere. Over the years, Sweat has maintained a reputation as ground zero for Miami vinyl buffs and music lovers of all stripes. Other local record shops include Technique, Found Sound, and Lucky Records.
