Google Podcasts
Google Podcasts is a reliable option for people to find a podcast application that can use them without necessarily having to subscribe first. This app also offers smart and creative recommendations based on what you follow and might be interested in.
The welcome page is fairly generic because it includes all of the usual “top podcast” subjects. Once you subscribe to shows, however, the home page changes accordingly. According to Google, that’s called “a few factors, such as your listening habits and the podcasts you subscribe to.”
The interface of Google Podcasts is designed clearly without being overwhelming. The podcasts you subscribe are shown in a grid up top. Below this, these shows are divided into several categories like New Episodes, In Progress and Downloads. It’s a good way of serving up a lot of information. When playing a podcast, it pops up in a small field at the bottom of the screen, which you can swipe up to zoom in. Plus, there’s a time scrubber, 10-second rewind and 30-second fast-forward. Google also launches a lot of customization on that front, with 15 different time levels between 0.5 and 2.0 speed.
With what Google Podcasts can do, it’s certainly worth the download for Android users who have a passion for stories from this podcast streaming app.
