Sam Gould founded a tiny hair business in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1932. His ambition was to deliver a really professional and one-of-a-kind fashion experience to his clients. Sam envisioned a sophisticated, premium atmosphere, which at the time was considered a Hollywood luxury. Sam's vision came to fruition in the form of his salons, and his name became synonymous with Memphis. Gould's grew and expanded, ultimately passing down to his sons Philip and David, who continue his history of outstanding service and desire to creating a distinctive, fashion-forward experience.

Gould's first Spa debuted in 1998, offering treatments ranging from comprehensive hair care to whole body care. Each Salon-Spa facility has a full variety of services, including body treatments, massages, facials, nail care, and Medi-Spa services. Gould's has the distinction of being the industry's oldest multi-location Salon Spa, over a century after the first salon opened its doors. Over 300 people are employed and served by their Salon Spa locations and Luxe Salon Suites, while Gould's Academy educates and inspires the next generation.
