Gouyave Fish Fry
Seafood lovers rejoice: while the Fish Fry isn't really a restaurant, it's a must-see event for any foodie visiting Grenada. It takes place every Friday evening in Gouyave, the island's bustling seaside town and fishing (and party!) hub.
Gouyave is Grenada's fishing capital, which is commemorated each Friday with a festive fish fry. Fresh fish is grilled and fried immediately off the boat by local merchants, who serve it with local sides. It's as much of a party as it is a meal, with most locals staying for a few drinks long after their meal is over.
It's right behind the gas station on St Francis and St Dominic Street in the heart of town. From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., come to this exciting open-air festival to mix with the locals, listen to steel bands, and eat grilled and fried fresh fish direct from the boat.
Shrimp, fish cakes, jerked marlin, massive lobsters, snapper, and conch served with delectable traditional side dishes. The official conclusion time is 11:00 p.m., although the festivities in Gouyave frequently last much longer.
It's across the street from the petrol station in the heart of town.
