Gramercy Park Hotel

Aby Rosen, a well-known real estate magnate, and art collector, bought the 1925-built Gramercy Park Hotel in 2004 and renovated it for two years under the direction of renowned designer Julian Schnabel. The outcome? A stunningly beautiful building that exudes style, vivacity, and one of the most chill vibes of any hotel in the city.

Just in case you miss the enormous bronze revolving entrance, handcrafted bronze arched doors with transparent beveled glass and cast bronze handles to welcome you to the concrete exterior. The second story of the lobby was removed to make room for the 20-foot ceilings with wood columns, and smack in the middle is a huge hand-blown glass chandelier. A nine-foot-high wood-burning fireplace, a black and white tiled floor, brown leather chairs, red velvet sofas, maroon draperies, and artwork by artists like Schnabel, Damien Hirst, and Botero are all present and correct in the room.

The Gramercy Park Hotel is located on the lower end of "Little India," a section of blocks on Lexington from the 1920s that is packed with real Indian eateries, in the Gramercy/Union Square neighborhood, which is located in the northern part of the neighborhood. The hotel is only a short stroll from the Union Square subway center, where you can find the 4, 5, 6, N, R, W, Q, and L trains, which are located two blocks from the 6 train at 23rd Street and Park Avenue.
