Great River

The Great River ( in Jamaica) is one of the Longest Rivers in Jamaica that separates the parish of St James from Westmoreland and Hanover. The Great River begins at around 1,400 feet (430 meters) in the northwestern corner of St Elizabeth, just north of the little hamlet of Pisgah. It runs north-northeast for roughly 57 miles (92 kilometers) (some sources indicate 46 miles (74 kilometers), reaching the Caribbean Sea at Great River Bay on the island's north coast, 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometers) west of Montego Bay.

Take a vacation in Jamaica's beautiful, tropical countryside and embark on a journey down the Great River, an experience you will never forget. The journey will take you through some of Jamaica's most picturesque hills and valleys. Your skipper will navigate you down the river in a bamboo raft that seats two. It will also serve as your guide, providing information about your environment, culture, and people. Visitors will be able to photograph the stunning views as you travel down the river.

Length: 92 km
