Gunung Kerinci

Mount Kerinci is a lively stratovolcano and one of the highest mountains in Sumatra, Indonesia. It is surrounded with the aid of the luxurious woodland of Kerinci Seblat National Park, home to numerous endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger and Sumatran rhinoceros. Summit treks commonly begin from the countrywide park entrance, 5km from Kersik Tua, and address the mountain over days, tenting overnight.

Another herbal panorama on Mount Kerinci is Lake Bento, the very best marsh with clean water in Sumatra, positioned at the east aspect of the mountain. Then, in the back of the mountain, there may be Gunung Tujuh, which has a lovely crater that is nearly intact.

Botanists and twitchers from around the sector come for the uncommon plant life and fauna, inclusive of Javanese edelweiss, Schneider’s pitta, and the crested wood partridge. Nepenthes (pitcher plants), squirrels, geckos, and long-tailed macaques may be located withinside the decreased woodland, and troops of yellow-passed mitered langurs also are seen.
