Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay, off the coast of Northeast Vietnam, was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Ha Long Bay should be on your itinerary when visiting Vietnam for a variety of reasons.
The bay is surrounded by a spectacular seascape and is known for thousands of limestone islands that emerged from the emerald water. You should book a boat trip to cruise through the maze of channels and oddly shaped islets. You can also go kayaking or caving to get a taste of this wonderland's enchanted beauty.
Despite the fact that it can get very touristy during the high season, Ha Long Bay is well worth a visit for what it has to offer.
The best time to visit Ha Long Bay is in the summer (May – October) when its weather is warm, less rain, convenient for outdoor activities and exploring.
