Sapa
Sapa, ranked sixth, combines all of the elements that make it one of the best places to visit in Vietnam: small villages that resemble a painting painted on the majestic hills, upland markets, and ethnic minority communities' identities.
Although the main town has been criticized for being overly touristic and undergoing numerous construction projects, it provides an excuse to venture out of town and immerse yourself in one of the country's most beautiful highland cities. Meeting up with the kind local minority people and being awestruck by terraced fields – breathtaking scenery – will be a lasting memory for you.
Sapa is a mountainous region with a mild climate throughout the year. Sapa's climate is divided into four seasons. Sapa's average temperature is 15 degrees Celsius. Summers in Sapa are pleasant; winters are cloudy and cold, with snowfall on occasion.
Sapa is best visited between September and early November, when the rice begins to ripen and the scenery changes to a brilliant golden color, creating a picturesque scene.
