Hangeul Master
Among TTMIK's many published books, there's one called Hangeul Master that focuses on Hangeul, the writing system of the Korean language. You might have heard claims that Hangeul is a relatively straightforward writing system; when you look for online tutorials, you'll find articles saying you can learn it in just one hour, a day, or two days.
There is a standard way to teach Hangeul, so most good books won't be very different. So, the fact that this book focuses on handwriting is a bonus! Reading typed Hangeul may be simple, but when you see how native speakers write, it's a whole new experience.
This book introduces you to the common handwriting styles, which are good to know. You don't need to worry about copying the style perfectly or remembering every stroke style. As long as you can write neatly, it's good enough. FocusingFocusing on writing makes learning new words seem less scary, and you might be less tempted to rely on memorization.
At times in the book, you'll find "Time-out" sections where you learn more about the language and some interesting cultural bits. That's always a plus, in our opinion! A beginner's book should aim to spark interest in the language, not just teach it.
