Hanover
Hanover, which is located on the Connecticut River's banks and lies directly across from Norwich, a sister city in Vermont, is well-known for being the location of exclusive Dartmouth College. The campus and the sizable student population rule much of town life.
The Ivy League college, one of the oldest colleges in the country, has some beautiful ancient buildings scattered across its open, green campus. Main Street is home to a number of excellent taverns, cafes, and restaurants. There isn't much to do in Hanover outside visiting the institution, so tourists might opt to hike along a section of the Appalachian Trail that passes through the town.
The New Hampshire city of Hanover is brimming with the allure, culture, history, and beauty for which New England has come to be recognized. Hanover, located on the Connecticut River in the lovely Upper Valley of the state, is a great location for both weekend getaways and outdoor adventures. Both visitors and residents can spend an afternoon paddling down the river in a canoe or kayak, visiting Dartmouth College or the Hood Museum of Art, or seeing a performance at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. There are also numerous places to buy, eat, and engage in outdoor activities.
