The Harry Winston Ruby Slippers first appeared in the 1939 film Wizard of Oz. Dorothy Gale was seen wearing the pair as she walked through Emerald City in search of the magician. The shoes were created as a memorial to the film 50 years later, in 1989.
The shoes were valued at $3 million at the celebration. The pair is adorned with diamonds and rubies to complete its appearance. Many others, however, have attacked them for being 'unfashionable.'
