These Stuart Weitzman Retro Rose Pumps, designed in the 1940s, are ranked ninth on the list of most expensive high heels. Each shoe's pump is composed of gold leather. They also include a 24-carat gold and 100-carat diamond-studded rose. These are just the pumps; the full pair of shoes has around 400 diamonds.
The heels made their premiere at the 2008 Academy Awards when Weitzman chose screenwriter Diablo Cody to wear them. Cody, on the other hand, declined the offer, claiming a publicity hoax. The true reason for the refusal is yet unknown. What is known, however, is the approximate value of the pair, which is $1 million.
