Haruhi Suzumiya (Japanese:涼宮ハルヒ, Hepburn: Suzumiya Haruhi) is a Japanese light novel series written and drawn by Nagaru Tanigawa. The novel The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was first published in Japan by Kadokawa Shoten in 2003 and has since been followed by 11 additional novel volumes, an anime television series adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation, four manga series, an animated film, two original net animation series, and several video games.

Following the screening of the anime adaptation in 2006, publishing company Kadokawa Shoten received bids to license the novels and their translations. The novels were licensed for English language release in the United States by Little, Brown, and Company, for young readers by Yen Press, and for anime adaptation by Kadokawa Pictures USA division, which then sublicensed production and distribution to Bandai Entertainment. Crunchyroll has currently licensed the anime.

When Kyon, a regular boy attending an equally ordinary school, caught contact with the mysterious Haruhi Suzumiya, his life took a dramatic change. Haruhi's school debut was anything but typical, and in a cruel turn of events, Kyon was forced to join her strange group, the SOS Brigade. The goal of the club is to learn everything there is to know about the paranormal.

Haruhi, the eccentric leader of the SOS Brigade, set off on a series of adventures with the assistance of other members Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi. When the mundane routine of school life becomes unappealing, what happens next? That very question is answered by Haruhi Suzumiya's escapades.

It is possible to turn even the most ordinary classroom environment into an exciting creative and imaginative playground. This show eloquently illustrates how the school may transform into an engrossing universe full of thrilling adventures. The otaku community still talks about the Suzumiya series a lot today, which is a tribute to its enduring charm and appeal. Explore the magical world of Haruhi Suzumiya and learn about the enchantment that may be found in everyday things.
