The story is about a high school student named Kyon who has an unusual encounter with a girl named Haruhi Suzumiya. Haruhi is a bit strange, and she wants to meet aliens, time travelers, and other supernatural creatures. She starts a club at their school called the "SOS Brigade" to try and find them. The club has some other members like Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi, and they all have their special powers.
