Hayling Island
Rounding out our list of the most beautiful islands in the United Kingdom is Hayling Island. It combines all the attractions of a traditional seaside vacation with excellent sports and leisure facilities. The island's miles of unspoiled coastline and countryside also provide a haven of peace and tranquility where visitors can walk, cycle or relax. Hayling Island has been awarded the European Blue Flag, and its fantastic beaches have also been awarded the UK Tidy Coast Award for their water quality, safety, and cleanliness. The shoreline is five miles long and offers safe places for swimming, beach volleyball, picnics, and barbecues, with some wheelchair-accessible amenities.
Hayling Island is known today for its Funland theme park and resort centers, which turned the island into a popular seaside resort from the 1930s onwards.
Hayling Island is steeped in military history, and visitors can explore the fascinating World War II Heritage Trail, which is home to many important historical landmarks.
