Health, Society, and Wellness in COVID-19 Times by University of Colorado Boulder

You may be entering a world that is unlike any other. The COVID-19 epidemic has created a climate of widespread uncertainty, increased worry, and social isolation, which coincides with a vital period in your personal learning and development. Long-standing inequities and inequality have been compounded by the COVID-19 epidemic, and recent events in the United States have exposed historical and current realities of racism and structural oppression. These obstacles make starting college extremely difficult, which is exacerbated by the fact that current university environments are complex and continually changing. These difficulties also give unique transdisciplinary and practical learning possibilities.

This course is designed to assist you in navigating this environment and the new learning conditions with knowledge and skill. They used participatory methods to construct the course, which means they asked students to collaborate with professors to create the course's content, structure, and learning experiences. To make the course material relevant to your life, we worked together to mix faculty expertise with student viewpoints and experiences.

With experts from the scientific sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities, education, communications and media, and engineering, they will explore perspectives on disease and society, as well as systematic racism and injustice. Using these disciplines to investigate the worldwide pandemic and systematic racism will be beneficial. Examining the complex issues of the global pandemic and institutional racism via these disciplines will help you develop conceptual and practical abilities that you will use throughout college and beyond.

In addition to researching new and continuing health and social crises, they will look into the science and practice of individual and community wellbeing. Emotions, relationships, typical mental health difficulties, and learning in the age of Zoom and remote classrooms will all be covered. For community wellbeing, you will learn cooperative, compassionate, and anti-racist activities.

Welcome to COVID-19's Health, Society, and Wellness!
