Henkel AG & Co. KGaA is a German consumer goods and chemicals corporation with a global presence. The Dial brand is an American brand of soap and body wash manufactured by Henkel, the American subsidiary of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA. It was formed in 1876 by Friedrich Karl Henkel and two of his associates. The company's initial product was a silicate-based universal detergent dubbed "Universalwaschmittel." Persil, the company's most well-known brand, was founded in 1907. Persil's laundry detergent reached more than 1 billion euros in sales in 2017.
Henkel said in March 2020 that it would produce reusable or recyclable packaging to promote sustainability until 2025. A move like this would also help to develop a circular economy. It converted a production facility and manufactured 25,000 liters of hand disinfectants at its Dusseldorf site in April 2020 to combat the coronavirus crisis. These will be given to public institutions and hospitals in the area.
