High Stakes Poker

High-stakes poker is an expensive pastime that can often be found in casinos. The purpose of the game, which is normally played with a regular 52-card deck, is to collect money from other players by either having the best hand or wagering that one does. Although any amount can be wagered, the standard minimum wager is $100. Although playing high-stakes poker can be incredibly thrilling and intriguing, it can also be very dangerous.

The game can be expensive to routinely participate in, and players can easily lose enormous sums of money in a single hand.

In the first five seasons, A. J. Benza and Gabe Kaplan co-hosted the program "High-stakes poker." As Kaplan's co-host in the sixth season, Kara Scott took Benza's position. Scott conducted interviews while sitting on the poker room floor. As Scott's co-host in the seventh season, Norm Macdonald took Kaplan's place. With the eighth season, hosts Benza and Kaplan made a comeback.
