Top 10 in Top 10 Reasons to Visit Romania
You don't have to be a power hiker to experience some of Romania's most breathtaking vistas. Many paths are very simple to complete and reward you with an amazing view once you reach the summit! Romania offers some excellent paved mountain road crossings for you to appreciate even if you don't do any hiking. Due to its stunning surroundings and thrilling journey, one of them, the Transfăgărășan, has been dubbed "the best road in the world" by Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson.
The Southern Carpathians, particularly in the Bucegi, Făgăraş, and Retezat Mountains, are where you'll find the toughest and longest hiking trails. If you really want to exhaust yourself, take the trail up to the Moldoveanu Peak, where you can take in your surroundings from a dizzying 2,544 meters above sea level. But never underestimate a mountain because of its size or structure. Before entering the wild, you should record your whereabouts. Look over the weather and traffic reports. Last but not least, make sure to layer appropriately, dress for the weather, and pack the right hiking equipment!
