Hochtief Aktiengesellschaft is a German construction company headquartered in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Hochtief is the largest construction company in Germany and operates worldwide, is one of the largest construction companies in the United States through its subsidiary Turner, and ranks in Australia through 72.683% of the CIMIC Group.
In 2010, more than 70,000 employees were employed in five corporate sectors. One of them, Hochtief Concessions, is a major airport operator. The rest are involved in construction project planning, finance, construction, and operations. The work performed in 2010 amounted to EUR 23.23 billion, of which more than 80% was carried out outside Germany.
