The first place on the list of the most expensive bridges ever built is Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. After 9 years of construction, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, the world’s longest sea-crossing, has opened to traffic.
The 55km crossing includes 3 cable-stayed bridges and hyperlink roads withinside the 3 towns, decreasing the touring time between Hong Kong and Macau/Zhuhai from an hour’s ferry journey to a 40-minute automobile journey. This is a key initiative of the Chinese government’s plan to power the financial and social integration of the Greater Bay Area which encompasses eleven towns in Southern China including Hong Kong and Macau.
