HONGQIAO GROUP
China Hongqiao Group is one of the world's largest aluminum producers founded in 1994 by the late president Zhang Shiping. Hongqiao has surpassed its main competitor - Russia's UC Rusal - to become a leading manufacturer of the world's largest aluminum producer in 2015. Previously, the group was named Shandong Hongqiao but later changed to China Hongqiao Group. During its development, the company acquired thermal energy supplier Aluminum & Power in June 2006.
Hongqiao started to produce aluminum and electricity in 2002 and owns a capacity of up to 400 million tons. The company owns subsidiaries, including Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum Power Co., Ltd., Huimin Huihong New Aluminum Profiles Co., Ltd., Hongqiao Investment (Hong Kong) Limited and focuses on manufacturing molten aluminum alloy, aluminum alloy casting-rolling products, aluminum busbars, and aluminum alloy ingots.
