Hoot the Redeemer, a city center bar with a hipster twist, is located in a basement just off Princes Street, securely away from the more traditional bars and pubs along Rose Street but still a short walk from the Cowgate's major nightclub scene. After passing by the fortune teller robot on the entryway, you'll be met by antique pinball machines and made-up tarot cards on the wall. In addition to a range of drinks, the menu compliments the funfair vibe by serving boozy ice creams and slushies.
They proudly stock only Scottish beer and cider to lower their carbon footprint and implement more environmentally friendly methods. They provide a rotating assortment of beer and cider from local favorites such as Pilot Beer, Stewart Brewing, Barney's Beer, Fallen Brewing, Thistly Cross Cider, and many others. Their cocktail selection pays homage to divination, the art of predicting the future using supernatural means. You'll be greeted by 13 tarot cards when you go to Hoot to obtain a meal. They've used their supernatural powers to reinvent each card as a drink, and whatever your future holds, it'll be delicious.
