H&R Block
H&R Block has services that are comparable to TurboTax but are less expensive. The user interface is simple to use in all versions. Particularly, the free version is more comprehensive than competing services' free plans.
H&R Block Free allows you to file Form 1040, claim the earned income tax credit, and reconcile your advanced tax credit. The free version of H&R Block also allows you to file Schedules 1 and 3 of Form 1040, which is a huge bonus for many taxpayers who need to report things like deductible student loan interest, certain retirement contributions, alimony, the lifetime learning credit, and the saver's credit, etc. While H&R Block's free version offers lots of features, you'll undoubtedly need to subscribe to one of H&R Block's paid packages if you plan to itemize deductions, were a landlord, freelanced, sold cryptocurrencies, contributed to an HSA, managed a small business, or other circumstances.
