Imuraya Confectionery Co., Ltd is a Japanese azuki bean confectionery company. The company's headquarters are in Tsu, Mie Prefecture and it was founded on April 8, 1947. Wazo Imura, the company's founder, became interested in Japanese confectionery and attempted to make "Yokan", a Japanese jelly made of Azuki bean paste. IMURAYA CO., LTD. has grown from a small family business to a fully pledged corporation. It was established by the eldest son, Jiro Imura, and twenty-one of his fellow soldiers.
