International British School Of Bucharest
Established in September 2000, the International British School of Bucharest is a top international school in Bucharest, Romania. This school welcomes boys and girls and follows a curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. Cambridge University has accredited it as an international examination center.
International British School of Bucharest is a specially designed building near the city center. Kids from all over Bucharest come here, and it is close to residential areas, shopping centers, and public transportation. This makes it easy for the students to explore Bucharest's attractions, like Lia Manoliu National Stadium, University Square, Romana Square, Victoriei Square, and the Old Town, just a few minutes away.
The school caters to students aged 3–19 from 30 different countries. In Year 11, students take Cambridge University IGCSE examinations, and in Year 12 and Year 13, they study for the International A Level. International British School of Bucharest offers 28 examinable subjects and enters students for Cambridge Checkpoint exams. Alongside English, it teaches Romanian, French, Spanish, and German. The school has no more than 23 students in each year group, and all junior classes have assistant teachers alongside a British professional.
The school operates from 08:30 to 16:00, Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 to 15:00 on Friday. Senior students in examination programs can attend Saturday morning revision classes. The academic year is 180 days, starting in September. The curriculum is divided into 5 Key Stages, each with clear goals for students to aim for, allowing them to learn at their own pace with the proper challenge and support.
IBSB encourages students to strive for academic excellence. Students graduate with an A average across 3-5 Level subjects yearly. About 95% of its graduates go on to study at higher education institutions, both in Romania and around the world, including prestigious ones like Berklee College of Music, the New York Film Academy, UCI LSE, Cambridge, and Yate.
