Maria International School of Bucharest
Maria International School of Bucharest, also known as MISB, is a school in Romania that welcomes students from different parts of the world. MISB has about 120 students and 20 teachers and hires around two teachers from other countries yearly. Since 2013, it has been one of the best international schools in Romania.
MISB is right in the middle of downtown Bucharest, on Amzei Square. The school is in a beautiful old villa that used to be a big house. It's easy to get to because it's close to many bus lines and the Romana Square metro.
MISB focuses on giving students a strong foundation for their future learning. In the Mini Preschool program (ages 2-3), kids play, learn the alphabet and numbers, explore outside, hear stories, and do music and art. The Preschool program (ages 3-4) helps students learn how to talk about their feelings. The Reception Class (ages 4-5) follows the British National Curriculum and concentrates on reading, phonics, and math.
In the Primary program at MISB, students build a solid base for their education. In Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), students learn core subjects like English, math, Romanian, phonics, reading, and writing in the mornings. In Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), they follow a similar schedule with more flexibility. As students progress, MISB will have Primary classes for Years 1-9.
MISB uses modern resources and tools to enhance learning. Students can use Chromebook laptops for IT classes and other projects. They can also borrow books from the library. The classrooms at MISB are big and bright, making it a great place to learn. The teachers have lots of experience in different educational systems. Classes are small, with a maximum of 20 students. This means students get special attention and can actively participate in their learning.
After school, MISB offers various clubs for students to join. These clubs help students grow in organization and discipline and boost focus and creativity. It's a fun way for students to socialize with their friends while exploring new and exciting topics.
