Jardin Japonais
This actual Japanese garden in a lovely French Riviera setting is a nice surprise. The Jardin Japonais, built right onto a steep hillside in Monaco's eastern end, resembles a Zen garden with water, stones, bamboo hedges, and Italian trees manicured in the Japanese style. This tranquil garden exudes a unique sense of peace and tranquility. A flowing waterfall, a pond with koi fish and water lilies, and a teahouse imported from Japan are all part of the 7,000-square-meter park. The wonderful atmosphere is enhanced with traditional Japanese lanterns and footbridges.
This magnificent park, Jardin Japonais, encompassing 7000 m2, is a fantastic respite from the hectic roads and streets of Monaco. It is a stylized recreation of nature, complete with a waterfall, tiny mountain, beach, and multiple ponds, all set in a zen-inspired setting. All of the wood for the tea house and covered terrace, as well as the stone lanterns, were assembled in Japan and then shipped to Monaco.
