JD.com
Jingdong, also known as JD.com is the number two online retailer in China, with a projected 2019 market share of roughly 17%. JD.com, a nasdaq100 and fortune global 500 firm with 161.8M monthly visitors, is the largest business-to-consumer (B2C) retailer in China.
When it comes to online shopping, JD.com is a B2C site. In addition to clothing, food, and literature, JD Mall also offers electrical and home appliance purchases. In addition, local vendors can set up virtual "shops" on JD mall and import goods including food, drink, apparel, and footwear.
When it comes to automated and drone deliveries in China, e-commerce giant JD.com is in the vanguard. Last year, the company showcased its first driverless vehicle and began construction on a drone airport. On February 6, 2020, in Wuhan, JD.com made the first delivery using an autonomous robot car, transporting medical supplies to a nearby hospital without interacting with any humans.
Like Amazon, JD.com is largely a direct seller; however, like Alibaba, it also has its own shipping and logistics network and features a marketplace. In order to better compete with Alibaba, multinational giants like Tencent, Google, and Walmart have all invested in JD.com.
