João Vieira Island
João Vieira is an island withinside the Bijagós Archipelago of Guinea-Bissau. It lies 20 km north-northeast of the island Poilão. Other nearby islands are Meio and Cavalos. With its unique beauty, this island deserves to be on the list of the most beautiful islands in Guinea-Bissau.
The duo of João Vieira and Poilão, some other set of specks amidst the much-vaunted archipelago of the Bissagos Islands, is in which endangered Atlantic sea turtles clamber over the shells and sandbanks to lay their eggs. Given the exoticism and sheer splendor in their backcountry and coast, it’s infrequently sudden that the complete location is now encompassed through a country-wide marine reserve. João Vieira e PoiLão Marine Park is located withinside the southwestern part of the Bijagós Islands. The park was set up through IBAP in August 2000, covers a place of 49,500 ha, and includes 4 primary islands (João Vieira, Cavalo, Meio, and Poilão) and 3 small islands.
