Orango Island

Orango is one of the Bijagós Islands, located 60 kilometers off the coast of mainland Guinea-Bissau. At 272,5 km2, it's far the most important island withinside the archipelago. This is also one of the most beautiful islands in Guinea-Bissau.

Here lives a network of approximately two hundred amphibious hippos of small stature, it’s one of the few locations withinside the international in which you could see saltwater hippos. Galumphing hippos flow inside and out of the brackish lagoons of Orango Grande, one of the undisputed jewels of the Bissagos Islands and a wonderful countrywide park in its personal right. In fact, natural world fanatics flock to this small landmass withinside the Atlantic to peer at the uncommon salt-water creatures of their herbal habitat, and there are oodles of neighborhood publications right here that perform wetland safaris out into the waterways and mangroves to peer at them.
