Jordan Pond House
Jordan Pond House, an Acadia National Park restaurant and shop with a long history stands on a hill overlooking a lovely lawn along Jordan Pond. Since 1893, when the first proprietor, Nellie McIntire, began baking and serving her famed popovers, guests have been enjoying the amazing views and dining at this location. They have been providing popovers and tea since then.
The famed Jordan Pond House popovers, which are prepared on the premises, lighten up a vast menu with all the usual suspects. The lobster stew and lobster roll are also excellent. Lunch on the grass, as well as a walkabout the grounds while you wait for your table, provide spectacular views. You'll probably have to wait a long time, as with all tourist hotspots in "America's Vacationland", giving you plenty of opportunities to browse the huge gift shop.
