Kaiserbad
Kaiserbad is not an old pool, but rather an old iron factory, despite its name, which means "emperor pool." The kitchen, which has been lovingly refurbished and is furnished with elegant furniture, provides a weekly changing cuisine that is inspired by the season and its ingredients. Making a point of visiting the Baumwollspinnerei arts center, which is just down the road, is a must. To feed Leipzig's art population, you should appreciate seasonal cuisines and handcrafted sweets once you arrive.
Kaiserbad, a depot-sized dining hall next to the converted Westwerk powerhouse, is a product of the Plagwitz area's ongoing gentrification, attracting a younger and middle-class customer than older local institutions. The menu is varied and imaginative, with a focus on current German and Italian cuisines. On tap are 19 different beers, including the bizarre Cola-Weisen.
