Kennard & Kennard is a family-owned and operated fabric distributor that has been in business for nearly 70 years, starting out as clothes merchants in Glebe, Sydney in 1949. The company has grown to become a prominent Australian supplier of quilting, patchwork, and furnishing fabrics, and is now owned by the fourth generation of the Kennard family.

Kennard & Kennard is headquartered in the lovely town of Young in New South Wales. Young is a prosperous tiny country town of 7000 inhabitants in the Hilltops region, three and a half hours from Sydney and two hours from Canberra. Hilltops is a cool-climate region known for its beautiful undulating terrain and high-quality produce due to its relatively high altitude. The rich red soils are ideal for growing cherries, peaches, plums, apricots, and grapes. The cherry orchards bloom in September, and the cherry season lasts from early November until the end of December.

For over 30 years, we have specialized in patchwork textiles and have an established track record of pleasant service, experience, and high quality. Our large selection of high-quality fabrics is ideal for patchwork and quilting, as well as embroidery, dressmaking, and furniture making.

We are the sole Australian distributors for Benartex Fabrics and have a large choice of broad quilt backings known as Burrangong Backings. Here at Kennard & Kennard, we also have a fantastic assortment of textiles developed by our Milvale Design Studio team, as well as a large selection of lovely linen/cotton blend fabrics.
