Kisangani
Kisangani is the capital of Tshopo province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is known as the fifth most populous city in the country, with an estimated population of 1,312,000 in 2021. Kisangani is home to the most diverse rainforests in the country and is the farthest possible upstream point. After Kinshasa, Kisangani is also known as a bustling city of DR Congo.
Visitors often visit Kisangani Zoo, relax at Wagenia Falls, shop along the avenue de l'Eglise and local markets, eat Congolese food from one of the many restaurants, marvel at the unique city architecture, visit one of the museums, go to the zoo or botanical gardens, catholic cathedral in the central market. If you are a first-time visitor, take a train line that runs south from Ubundu, you can inquire at 2 Kisangani railway stations for tickets and the next train as the trains run on highly erratic schedules.
