Your audience is your market, so keep that in mind as you develop your content marketing strategy. Imagine you own a clothing store that caters to males between the ages of 25 and 40. Your marketing plan needs to be effective with these customers because they are the ones that make purchases from you.
Knowing your audience helps you figure out what content and messages people care about. Once you have an idea of what to say, knowing your audience also tells you the appropriate tone and voice for your message. Spend money on research to learn about them, their homes, jobs, income levels, and fashion preferences. Find out where they are on social media and when they are active there. Once these characteristics are established, you may create content that appeals to the audience's emotions and is the approachable element of viral marketing.
