Koh Rong Sanloem

Koh Rong Sanloem is Koh Rong's more laid-back sister island. The smaller Koh Rong Sanloem is quickly becoming a backpacker's paradise, with cheap dorm rooms and all-night parties, as well as a Full Moon Party! There are more than a dozen resorts on Saracen Bay, a heart-shaped inlet with calm turquoise surf and beautiful white sand beaches, ranging from simple wooden bungalows to luxury air-conditioned villas.

On the other side of the island, Sunset Beach is aptly named for the colorful displays over the water as the sun sinks below the horizon. There are numerous inexpensive accommodation options and a laid-back, backpacker vibe in M'phey Bei, a small fishing village. Take a walk along the beach and watch your footsteps illuminate the bioluminescent plankton as the waves lap around your feet. It's one of Southeast Asia's most magical experiences!
