After two years, Production I.G continued to release the second season of the Koukaku Kidoutai series called Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG. Aired on Animax from January 2004 to January 2005, the series also received positive reactions no less than the first season.

Following the conclusion of the “Laughing Man” case, cyborgs known as Section 9 were re-established by the new Japanese Prime Minister, Youko Kayabuki, to tackle controversial issues at that time. When the Third and Fourth World Wars happened, almost three million Asian people became refugees. They came to Japan as a source of cheap labor, which resulted in social unrest on the island of Dejima and potential dangers.

A group calling themselves "The Individual Eleven" has begun committing acts of terror across Japan. Also, leaking the social virus that created the Individual Eleven ideology and creating a new Stand Alone Complex were thorny problems that needed to be addressed as soon as possible.

Thanks to great cybernetic bodies and intelligent human brains, Section 9 ultimately discovered the one who caused these events was Kazundo Gouda, the head of the Cabinet Intelligence Service. However, what was the cost of this finding? Access the link and explore the anime Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG.
