Lake Constance
Lake Constance is 64 kilometers long and 12 kilometers wide, it is the third largest lake in Central Europe as well as one of the best lakes to visit in Liechtenstein. It is located at the intersection of three countries: Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. On Lake Constance, scheduled boat services are provided together with a variety of alluring year-round offers by numerous businesses from all three neighboring states. Many tourists and day trippers go to Lake Constance, particularly in the summer months, attracted by the lake's rolling beauty, moderate climate, and abundance of water sports and other leisure activities.
The "white fleet" links the lake's modest coastline communities and tourist destinations. Romanshorn, Arbon, and Rorschach on the Swiss side of the lake are notable towns with charming ancient towns, as are Gottlieben, Ermatingen, and Stein am Rhein, which are lovely townships on the Lower Lake. Starting at Kreuzlingen, one of the most picturesque lake and river cruises in Europe continues along the Rhine to Schaffhausen before passing through the Untersee to Stein. Boats leave Rorschach to travel the picturesque course of the Old Rhine river and arrive at Rheineck at the opposite end of the lake. For outdoor enthusiasts, the gently sloping scenery surrounding Lake Constance is a heaven. Numerous water sports activities, hiking and walking trails, but mainly skating and cycling lanes, are available in this excursion and relaxation area. The Lake Constance Cycle Path, which round the lake, is a beloved classic.
