Lee Young-ae
Lee Young-ae rose to prominence in South Korea following his performance in the historical drama Dae Jang Geum. She received the Daesang (Grand Prize) award as well as the Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards. Dae Jang Geum's fame catapulted Lee to pan-Asian stardom as one of the biggest Hallyu stars.
Lee then appeared in Park Chan-wook's The Vengeance Trilogy third installment, Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. For her performance in the film, she was named Best Actress at the 2005 Blue Dragon Film Awards and the 2006 Baeksang Art Awards. Lee was also invited to sit on the jury bench of the Berlin International Film Festival in 2006, making her the first Korean actress to be chosen as a jury member of the international film festival.
In particular, in 2015, at the 10th Seoul International Television Awards, Lee Young-Ae was honored with the Grand Prize of Hallyu (Award recognizing merit as well as a great contribution to the Hallyu wave) by famous projects and great contributions in spreading Korean culture, influence, and image to the world.
